Do your tours accommodate food allergies and special dietary requirements?

LuganoTours will make reasonable efforts, where possible, to accommodate dietary preferences and special meal requests, including vegetarian, vegan, religious and other dietary requirements. Such requests must be communicated in advance and cannot be guaranteed in every situation.

Guests are solely responsible for informing LuganoTours of any food allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, religious dietary requirements or other food-related medical conditions before the tour, and for verifying the suitability of any food before consuming it.

Food tastings may include products containing multiple ingredients or ingredients that are not always immediately identifiable. Particular care should be taken with processed meat products, including meatballs, cured meats and sausages, which may contain additional ingredients, allergens or additives. Similarly, chocolate, pastries, cakes and other baked goods may contain nuts or nut derivatives, traces of nuts, different types of flour, butter, oils or other fats, as well as ingredients or cross-contamination risks that may not be readily apparent.

LuganoTours does not prepare or manufacture all food products offered during tours and cannot guarantee that food supplied by third-party restaurants, shops, producers or other vendors is free from specific allergens, prohibited ingredients or cross-contamination.

Responsibility and safety

Guests must exercise their own judgment and take all necessary precautions before consuming any food or beverage. Where a serious allergy, dietary restriction or religious requirement exists, guests should inform LuganoTours in advance and directly verify the ingredients and potential allergen risks with the relevant food provider before consumption.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LuganoTours accepts no liability for allergic reactions, food intolerances, adverse effects or other consequences arising from the consumption of food or beverages during a tour, including serious injury or death, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

By participating in food-related activities, guests acknowledge that food products may involve allergen, ingredient and cross-contamination risks and agree to take responsibility for assessing whether the products are suitable for their individual dietary, religious and medical requirements.

Weather Conditions and Safety

Our tours generally operate in all weather conditions. However, the safety of our guests always comes first, and adjustments to the itinerary or planned activities may be necessary depending on weather conditions and official safety restrictions.

For example, lake navigation companies may be required to suspend boat services due to adverse weather or safety warnings. Mountain railways may also be temporarily suspended due to heavy snowfall, avalanche warnings or other hazardous conditions.

Such restrictions are imposed by the relevant transport operators or authorities and are beyond LuganoTours’ control. In these circumstances, we will do our best to find the most suitable alternative available, adapting the itinerary where possible to ensure you can still enjoy a memorable experience.

Any additional costs or changes to the original itinerary resulting from these circumstances will be communicated to you as clearly as possible.

Public transportation tickets are not included in our tour prices. Many visitors already have a valid Ticino Ticket or Swiss Travel Pass, and we believe you shouldn’t have to pay twice for the same service.

If you don’t already have a valid ticket, we will help you find the most convenient and cost-effective option for your itinerary. Depending on your journey, this may include regular tickets, Supersaver tickets valid only for the selected date and time, or a Half Fare Card combined with a Saver Day Pass. With the right combination, savings of over CHF 250.- per person may be possible on certain journeys compared with standard fares.

For families, the Swiss Family Card may also be an excellent option, as eligible children under 16 can travel free of charge on many services when accompanied by a parent holding a valid qualifying ticket.

Visitors travelling from Milan or Como to Lugano for a day trip may already have local public transportation included in their ticket. If your return ticket includes the CTA option, public transportation within the Lugano region may already be covered, depending on the ticket’s validity and conditions. We recommend checking your ticket before purchasing any additional transport, and LuganoTours will be happy to help you find the most convenient and cost-effective solution.

At LuganoTours, we want you to enjoy your experience without unnecessary expenses. We’ll help you compare the available options and choose the solution that best suits your itinerary, travel plans and budget.

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for large groups, peak travel periods and customised itineraries involving several destinations or transport arrangements. This allows sufficient time to organise the experience according to your needs. Last minute requests are also welcome and will be considered subject to availability.
